Sista's-in-Law are Sista's-in-Business

I can't tell you how much fun it was doing a session with these two!  They were in need of some head shots to use for different business purposes for their newest endeavor together known as AnnMarie's Affairs.  On top of husbands, children, full-time jobs, and life in general, these two have decided to venture into the event planning business.  I could hear the excitement as they talked about their business and their future plans for it.  Although the only elaborate event I have ever planned was my wedding, it's amazing how even small get togethers can seem like daunting tasks with endless details.  Well, these ladies are here to take care of all the details for you and assist in the overall planning and execution of all events, including commercial events, but minus weddings (I can't blame them for that. Can you?)  So, next time you have an event, I definitely recommend calling April and Crista!
You can also find April at the Lancaster hotspot known as CB's.  It was so funny because while we were shooting at the gardens, there were a ton of students there doing their prom pictures!  I could see her eyes scanning all the dresses as she pointed out each one that was a CB's dress.  It was the perfect opportunity for her to secretly scout out some of the other dresses : )

P.S. The same day I did these head shots, I also photographed their adorable children!  I can't wait to get some of those images up for you to see.  Dolls... all three of them : )

Rianne & Bram's Post-Wedding Bridal Session

I had the unique privilege of shooting a post-wedding bridal session recently for the lovely Rianne and Bram!  Not only were they fun to work with, but they were so into each other and flirty.  It was really cute!  With all the stress and anxieties of a wedding behind them, they were able to really relax and enjoy our session... it made my job so easy!  Another cool part of doing this post-wedding bridal session was that the bride got to wear her dress again!
Rianne and Bram were actually married a few weeks ago in Holland, where they are from, but decided to honeymoon in the states.  They have connections with the Lancaster area because Rianne just happens to be the niece of the wonderful Johannes Tromp, master mind, overseer, and day-to-day operator of Kilburnie Inn at Craig Farm... a photographer's dream location : )  I was more than ecstatic to do a session at Kilburnie and it did not disappooint!  We had great light, great scenery, and great company!  The only down side to the session was that I had made two new friends and they had to return to Holland the following day : )

Congratulations Newlyweds!
~Lindsey

P.S. If you have not yet treated yourself to a stay at Kilburnie... you need to put that on the priority list.  The house and the grounds are gorgeous, the rooms are elegant and very comfortable, the service is wonderful and the breakfast is always so unique and delicious.  It's a must try!

The beautiful bride.  Check out those eyes... all natural!

The handsome groom.

lovely and ethereal : )

The Cedar Orchid

I just wanted to do a quick little blurb on an incredible meal I had last night at The Cedar Orchid.  Now, don't try to look it up online because it actually only existed for one evening... puzzled???  My brother is a senior at Johnson & Wales in Charlotte and will be graduating in May.  This restaurant was a part of his, and several other students, capstone project.  They had to do everything that would be done in a "real" restaurant... estimate and purchase the food, organize the kitchen, arrange the reservations and seating, manage the floor, manage the kitchen, etc.  The school has a student restaurant set up for precisely this kind of practice.  My husband and I were invited and we took along with us another couple.  We were all impressed with the dishes and the service was excellent.  Congratulations to all the graduating seniors! Here are a few images:

The Menu

The Restaurant

The Floor Manager:  Alittle blurry I know.  I had to pretend like I wasn't taking pictures (so as not to embarass the brother : )

Don't you just love the presentation!?!  Coconut shrimp of course!

Grilled chicken with salmon over pureed butternut squash, a side of asparagus and all topped with a bernaise sauce : )

Loved the dessert!

Finally, he let me get a shot of him... and yes, he is a heart breaker with those incredibly blue eyes : )

After the meal, we had to grade them!!!

Sista Love

I absolutely loved hanging out with these sisters and their mom last Friday!  We definitely has some good laughs together, some of which were at my expense : )  After we had just met, and as I had just started taking the first shots of the session, I felt it... I was certain that there was a bug crawling up the inside of my pant leg.  I looked down and you could see the shape of a large bug in my pants on the top of my leg!!!  I had to act fast and yet stay calm... I had just met these people and didn't want to scare them!  So, I built up the courage, pulled up my pant leg, and a big fat bee fell out!!!  Oh the drama : )  So glad I wasn't stung!  It was a great ice breaker and it didn't take long after that for Hayden and Kaylen to open up and have some fun.  I'll hang out with these girls any day!
On a side note- the outfits they wore were perfect... exactly what helps to make an image more interesting; similar color scheme yet not matchy-matchy, and they both wore outfits that fit their own style and personality.

I love the one of them laughing together.

When I saw this shot, the first thing I thought was... Hollister model... and I couldn't help but try a vintage look with it.  Leave a comment and let me know which you like better for this shot, classic or vintage?

This shot might be my favorite from the session.  I love this light and the rich, hazy look that it creates.  They were such troopers to let me get these field shots.

~Lindsey

P.S. Fed Ex just dropped off one of my favorites lenses that I will be using for two different sessions this weekend, with one at the beautiful Inn at Kilburnie.

Bailey

I made some new friends! Last week, I had the privilege of meeting and photographing Bailey.  She brought along her mom and sister and we had the best time (even though we were only together for about 30 minutes : )  I did a 30 minute, mini-session for Bailey because she was just in need of some head shots to use in some promotional materials related to an upcoming pageant she will be in.  This girl is too cute- I wish I knew the pageant judges so that I can put my vote in for her!  Here are two of the images from our session.  Enjoy!

Rick and Nancy

A few weeks ago, I had the privilege and joy of photographing Rick and Nancy's wedding in Florida.  This was a much anticipated and exciting event for more reasons than one, some of which I will share with you... 1- It was a wedding and I LOVE weddings! 2- It was a family wedding, even better! 3- wedding cake, enough said : ) 4- Rick and Nancy trusted me enough to photograph their day as my first "official" wedding of my blossoming photography adventure! 5- Rick and Nancy's wedding spoke of God's grace and unconditional love in a powerful and moving way... it was beautiful.

I hope these images do it justice!  I love you guys!
