Columbia, SC Photographer- Multitude Monday and My Little One

Plans coming together!  This one pretty much sums it all up and I will elaborate more on it very soon : )
Oh, not sure if I've mentioned how incredibly thankful I am for Emerson FINALLY sleeping through the night- 7:30 to 7:00 to be exact, for about the past month and a half.  I thought it would never happen and people told me I was crazy for hoping.  Never say never : )

So, for the past few weeks I've had this grand idea to take Emerson out, with the help of my husband, and try to do a "real" session with her.  Real meaning, not a thrown together in two minutes in our kitchen or living room kind of session.  I'm telling you, it is so hard for me to do this whole photography thing with my own kid!  So, I planned and picked out cute outfits, good props, great location.

As soon as we pulled up to the location, the clouds began to look angry.  After all the effort to make this happen I was not about to let it stop us.  So we hopped out of the car and barely got 15 minutes of shooting before my husband wisely suggested that we pack up and get in the car.  I haven't had a session get rained out all year and of course it happens to my very own session.  Oh well, 15 minutes gave us these great images and maybe I will try again soon.  For now, these satisfy me.

Enjoy!

~ Lindsey
Oh how I love her chunky thighs : )

Everything goes in the mouth!

If you are wondering how I can stand the cuteness, I can't.

Notice all the little white things poking through her gums!

Always moving her legs.

Gonna be a roller coaster fan like her daddy.

Ready to take a bite out of the poor frog.

Multitude Monday- Columbia, SC Children's Photographer

So, I finally figured out where this whole Multitude Monday came from.  A few weeks ago, when I was in Atlanta, I borrowed a book from a friend.  The book is called One Thousand Gifts by Ann Voskamp.  It is uh-mazing!  Well, I loved it and I think I read it at just the right time in my life.  Don't you love when that happens!?!  It is written very poetically and it took me a few pages to get into it, but it definitely grabbed a hold of me.
It's about learning to live life with a deep sense of gratitude, finding the ability to give thanks in ALL circumstances because no matter what life brings our way, as a Christian, I have been given the ultimate reason to be grateful and humble- Christ.  I could go on and on about it, but instead I will encourage you to read it : )
The author has a blog called A Holy Experience and in it she journals what she is giving thanks for.  She has such a way with words and describing things that we would normally overlook.

SO, today I am thankful for...
- books that inspire and encourage
- my husband on his hands and knees playing with our daughter
- being able to return the kindness of a meal to a friend who recently had a baby
- 16/17 baptisms that took place yesterday at Radius Church
- Emerson's mobility : )
- warm coffee in the morning when the house is still quiet
- my NC family was safe and sustained little damage from the hurricane

And here is what we have been up to this morning...  poor Sugar : )  Yes, those are torn up Pottery Barn magazines (one of Emerson's favorite things to play with).

~ Lindsey

In the one on the right, Sugar is about to make a run for it.

Then Emerson turned back around : )

Multitude Monday- Columbia, SC Children's Photographer

Oh my its been too long since I've done this.  One of my New Year's resolutions was to blog more and while the year started off very promising, I have found myself getting busier and busier and blogging less and less.  Oh there are so many things that I want to accomplish and can't seem to find the time or discipline to do.  BUT, regardless of my inabilities, I have MUCH to be thankful for...

~ a sweet little 6 month old who keeps us entertained, smiling, and laughing... she is such a JOY
~ a wonderful husband who works so hard to be a good father, husband, leader, and provider
~ being able to be home with Emerson the past 6 months (the original plan was for me to continue working as a Social Worker part-time, but after I met this little girl I couldn't bear to part with her)
~ LOTS of traveling lately, 3 weeks of non-stop traveling to be exact
~ LOTS of time with family... oh how I love my family
~ our Toyota Prius which is deceivingly large and roomy for long-distance traveling
~ a ridiculously fun game of ultimate frisbee last night, I set out to be a spectator, but didn't make it on the side-lines for very long, I forgot how much I love stuff like that
~ all my Spring weddings are edited and returned to clients!!! this is a huge blessing as it was my first real round of  back-to-back weddings and I was unsure how I would handle the workload with my little 24/7 companion : )

And here is my new favorite image of the little girl...
Happy Monday!

Multitute Monday- Columbia, SC Photographer

First and foremost... my wonderful mother-in-law for taking five days away from her busy life to come and help me take care of Emerson so that I could get some much needed rest and have some extra work hours.  I couldn't be more thankful for her!
~ my sister coming for a visit tomorrow... yay!
~ another beautiful wedding that went off without a hitch... congratulations Bekah and Steve!
~ friends who go above and beyond the call of duty... you know who you are : )
~ hope

Happy Monday!

And here are some images that will be debuting on the blog soon from Emily and Brandon's beautiful Craig Farm wedding...

Multitude Monday | Columbia, SC Photographer

So much to be thankful for...

1- my first Mother's Day as a mother
2- my mom and David's mom
3- hearing sweet noises coming from a little girl in the back seat as I am driving around town
4- watching a very deserving single mom receive some very generous gifts thanks to Radius Church
5- my awesome new iMac and its incredible 27 in. screen... so excited to finally have this after working tirelessly on a basic 13 in. Macbook from 2006!
6- my husband for taking these pictures for my new tradition... all I want for Mother's Day, from now on, is to have a picture taken of me with my child/children

Multitude Monday | Columbia, SC Photographer

Today I am thankful for...

Being so busy with work... downloading, culling, editing, uploading, returning emails, placing orders, bookkeeping, etc. that I don't have time to write a lengthy  post : )

One thing that I am extremely thankful for is the wonderful Easter celebration that I had with family over this past weekend.  We are all unworthy and undeserving of God's love and grace, yet he freely gives it above and beyond what we can ask or imagine.

Happy Monday!

Lindsey

Multitude Monday, Photographer in Columbia, SC

So much to be thankful for this beautiful Monday morning...

~ hearing my sweet baby girl giggle (it happened spontaneously one day and I've been working my hardest to get another out of her : )
~ a visit from friends, who are also moms, and their support, encouragement, and advice that they gave me
~ a beautiful wedding for an adorable couple on Saturday, can't wait to share the images with you
~ the rain coming to a stop just in time for the guests to arrive and the festivities to begin
~ My husband and baby girl made it all day Saturday without me
~ E-mealz, seriously if you don't know about this, you need to know about this.  If you are like me and you really dislike planning meals, then you MUST check this out.  It saves me so much time, brain power, and money : )
~ Southernsavers, I've recently been learning the art of couponing.  I've tried it in the past and hated it and seen little-to-no savings.  Well, Southernsavers makes it easy and streamlined for a former coupon-hater like me to now love the game of seeing how much I can save with coupons (yes, you may laugh at me).  But you might stop laughing, if you knew that I left a store the other day spending only .79 for a bag of $28 worth of quality, useful items (Dove deodorant, toothbrushes, and candy to name a few : )
~ a delicious dinner last night thanks to my grill master husband
~ all of the exciting session and weddings I have coming up

Happy Monday!

~ Lindsey

P.S.  Stay tuned for images from two recent children's sessions, a bridal session, a few weddings, and a senior session.  And here is a recent shot of my girl...

Multitude Monday, Photographer in Columbia, SC

It's been awhile since I posted one of these, but its not because I haven't had anything to be thankful for.  The sheer busyness of life has kept me from sitting down long enough to focus.  BUT thanks to a horrible cold with fever, chills, and body aches in tow, I have no excuse not to post one today.  So, here is my list:

~ being sick because it allows me to take naps, lay in bed, and stop being busy (that's kinda Pollyana-ish of me isn't it : )
~ a friend who came by to take care of Emerson so that I could nap and rest, and if that wasn't enough, she also brought me medicine
~ medicine : )
~ dinner with friends
~ an up and coming visit with family
~ couples who are older and wiser and willing to mentor and encourage young couples, thank you Cheryl and John
~ a husband is who a selfless provider for our family
~ a recent visit from cousins and an aunt and uncle, its always good to be with family
~ a great session with two adorable little boys... aka my nephews

Multitude Monday, Photographer in Columbia, SC

Here's my list for this week : )

~ getting mail, I just love it!
~ a lazy Saturday with the husband and our sweet girl filled with movies, chocolate chip cookies, and naps
~ my house, it fits all of our needs, holds all of our furniture perfectly, has great space for entertaining, an incredible kitchen with tons of counter space, and I'm just so thankful for it!
~ Emerson's two month check-up reported a healthy and happy little girl
~ another birthday, I'm 28. I can't believe it.
~ the incredible Christian community that David and I have become a part of
~ walking with friends
~ having family nearby
~ this one takes some explanation... my mom is going to be getting a new car sometime soon and she was talking with my brother about what kind of car she should get.  He suggested some kind of smaller, sporty car to which my mom replied, "it must be big enough to hold a car seat."  I'm so thankful that David and I both have parents who love us unconditionally and love Emerson just the same, maybe even more : ) Enough to determine the kind of car that they will get : )
~ Skype... its been so fun chatting with the grandparents over Skype so that they can see Emerson.
~ the engagement session that I will be sharing with you sometime this week, see the sneak peek below

Multitude Monday, Children's Photographer in Columbia, SC

Writing these Multitude Monday posts makes me realize how fast Mondays come around!  Here's my list this week:

~ we had a breathing scare with Emerson last week, but everything checked out 100% healthy at the doctor and she has been fine since
~ seeing my husband take action in taking care of Emerson and I when the incident happened, he was amazing
~ my new and fabulous lens that came in the mail, 24-70 mm, so excited to start shooting with this
~ hosted a fun, successful Supper Club for 25+ people at our house, don't ask how they all fit
~ another beautiful, sunny day
~ last but not least... finally making the decision to not return to my part-time Social Worker position, although I will definitely miss the people I worked with and the clients I served, I am so excited to be able to stay at home with Emerson and focus more time and attention on Lindsey Pace Photography

There is so much more I have to be thankful for.  These are just a few of the things that come to my mind immediately.

~Lindsey

And here is an image of my sweet little girl with her daddy taken with my new lens... love it!  I can't believe she is already two months old!

Multitude Thursday? Columbia, SC Photographer

So, my post didn't quite make it up on Monday, but I don't think there is anything wrong with a Multitude Thursday : )  We have been out of town for over a week and just got back in on Tuesday evening.  So here is my list of things I am most thankful for this beautiful, sunny Thursday.

~ safe travel to and from Florida
~ spending a week in Florida with my family
~ celebrating two special people... a soon-to-be bride and a soon-to-be mommy
~ being around friends who might as well be family
~ a little girl who is a great traveler and loves to socialize (meaning stare wide-eyed at everything and bob her head around while making grunting noises) with friends and family
~ a mom who fills her house with baby gadgets because she is excited to have her granddaughter come for a visit
~ stopping in Atlanta to spend time with sweet college friends and their sweet babies as if no time has passed... its been 6 years since our Samford days... time flies!
